If you are looking for great days of Bull Red Fishing look no farther. Capt. Shawn works harder than any guide I have ever fished with. If he has to go 10 miles or 50 miles to the fish, he will do his best to put you on fish. I’ve fished when we put as many as 60+ fish in the boat in one day. The accommodations are fabulous. This is the only Capt. me and my friends use. Been going with him for about 10 years.

Great accommodations. All of this Crew are professionals, who put you on fish, and treat you like family. I've booked two trips. One with friends and one with boys. Everyone had a great time.

I fished for three days May 14th through May 16th and the fishing was great, we loaded the cooler each day. The first two days we had our limit of perfect size red fish in just a couple of hours, the third day we had 9 red fish and a cooler full of sheeps head and a few trout. This was my third trip to fish with Capt. Shawn and Capt. Pete it won't be my last. I'm already looking forward too my next trip.

I was looking for a place to take my wife for big bull reds and this trip was it. Captain Shawn was the man, he put us on big bulls every morning with my biggest being 34 lbs. and my wife 32 lbs.
The accommodations were 5 star. We will definitely be making a return trip!

Just returned from my second trip booked through Fish-On Guide Service. Both times have been a great experience and even when the weather hasn't given us ideal conditions we've still managed to boat a number of bull reds. In two days this past trip the three of us boated close to 40 bulls, 6 big jacks, and a few other toss ins. This doesn't include the fish you don't get to the boat for a variety of reasons. I second a previous comment regarding Captain Shawn's gear - from the boat to the equipment it is all top of the line. This matters. Can't go wrong with Shawn’s operation!

Capt. Shawn and Capt. Pete were outstanding Captains. Great accommodations and awesome fishing. Their knowledge of local fishing is 5 star quality and I had the trip of a lifetime! Great memories, thanks for a great time!

We had great fishing and great hospitality. Captain Shawn and Captain Pete worked very hard for us. We caught our limit of big and small Reds all three days. We had an outstanding trip.

If you read Captain Shawn's report posted for Dec.21, the group fishing was us, a group out of SD boys on our 4th trip to his lodge. A cold front shut down the bull reds which happens to us fishing walleyes in SD all the time.. We worked hard to catch those bulls but hard work paid off. Even in December you can catch those big Redfish. We will be back.

I was looking for the ultimate big red fish trip, but also wanted good numbers of fish. Boy did I find it with Captain Shawn and Fish-On Guide Service. They surpassed every expectation I had in both the fishing and the lodging. On our best day we boated over 57 fish and lost another 23. These are "Big Bull Reds". I'd recommend Fish-On over any guide service in LA.

My wife, daughter and I had a fantastic time with Captain Shawn on the Friday after Thanksgiving while we were in South Louisiana visiting family. The frontal conditions weren't ideal but Captain Shawn ran new water, had us mix up techniques and worked hard to put us on fish. All said and done, it ended up being an awesome day of fishing, catching quality bull reds practically non-stop for the final couple hours of the day. As a tournament bass angler, one thing I really appreciated was that Capt. Shawn runs premium gear, including high-quality rods, reels, line, popping corks, lures and terminal tackle. Oct 31-November 4 Have fish all over the world and not ever ran into a more hospitable, clean professional operation. superb accommodations ,excellent fishing for slots and bull Redfish, with average of 50 hookups a day with numerous 18-25lb releases. me and 2 fishing buds booked 3 days with fish on guide service in october 2017 and the fishing and weather was great all 3 days. first day we hooked over 60 bull reds and capt shawn netted over 50 of them ranging from 15 lbs to 32 lbs. what a fantastic day of fishing. days 2 and 3 were also great days with netting over 30 bull reds in the bays and then went to the river for some slot reds to finish filling the coolers. the lodge was top shelf also and i have been in a few in my 30 plus years of fishing excursions all over the U.S.A. and beyond. we will going back again , hopefully sooner than later. thank you capt shawn and leila for a fantastic experience in southern louisiana. best to you, steve.

My buddy and I got back from an awesome fishing trip for Bull Reds. I highly recommend Fish On Guide Service because I was constantly yelling "Fish On." The fishing was great, the accommodations were wonderful, the price was reasonable, and Shawn/Leila were gracious, friendly hosts. It's the accumulation of a bunch of little things that add to a great fishing trip (besides catching 44 Bull Reds my first day with my largest on the trip at 32lbs). Shawn always initiated my frayed lure change, popper change, rod change to make sure I optimized my fishing. I didn't have to say anything. He would say "let's fly you first class" when my plastic lure would get frayed and he would change to a fresh lure. He always had a great attitude when it came to my birds nest to work through. He would hand me a new rod to use. He also had patience with us trying odd lures or my buddy using a fly rod but I always came back to the popping cork. I would definitely recommend Fish On. See you folks next time.

This was my second trip this year. The first day was slow, but we still caught a bunch of small redfish and other assorted sea creatures. The weather prevented us from going after bull reds. The next day was another story. We caught MANY redfish up to 30lbs. I also caught several huge jack crevalles up to 24.5lbs. One took me over 30 minutes to bring in. At one point I had 3 huge fish on 4 casts. I couldn't stop laughing. It was one of those "best days of my life" days. The last day started off great, 3 huge fish right off the bat. But then mother nature took over and the storms moved in. Captain Shawn can control many things, but weather isn't one of them. After getting to a safe haven until the storm passed, we continued to fish, but our fish didn't cooperate. We still managed to catch a bunch of trout (great for sushi) and other assorted critters. The fact that my wife and I came for a second trip within 6 months should be the best indicator of the quality of our experience. My only hesitancy about writing this review is that if Captain Lanier's service becomes too well-known, than it will be harder for me to book a trip! If you want the best book with Fish-on Guide Service. Finally, this trip my wife only caught a 26lb red asher largest and I caught a 30 pounder. I finally beat her

My wife and I just spent two days fishing at fishon-guideservice. We were greeted on arrival by Shawn and Leila and made to feel at home. The accommodations are excellent, clean and comfortable. Our first day of fishing was a little slow, but we still caught many redfish over 20 lbs. Our next day started a little slow, but that changed quickly. After limiting out on snapper in 10 minutes we went for redfish. We caught numerous fish, most weighing more than 20 lbs. My wife caught the largest, 39 lbs!!!. My largest was 26 lbs. The boats are safe, well-equipped and fast, fast fast. Captains Shawn and Pete work together to help you catch fish in a fun friendly environment. I feel I have friends for life and already planning my next trip. Even though it was a trip of a lifetime, it is the first of what I hope are many trips of my lifetime. Just like the numerous fishing shows say. Venice is the fishing capital of the World and Fish On Guide Service is the passport to that world.

We had a BLAST.!!!! Our fishing involved 35mph winds, but our Captain Johnny, did EVERYTHING he possibly could to get us fish. HE DID.!! WE will most definitely be going back.. Also the lodging was luxurious.!!! MY husband, our friend and I had wonderful time.

Had a fishing trip of a life time, with Fish-On Guide service... Captain Shawn had up on the Redfish all three day we fished. If I remember right the smallest Red we caught was 13lbs and my Mother caught the wooper 31lbs.. All 3 of us caught fish all day long. Averaged 15 to 25 fish per-person ... and let me tell you my arms were sore... Great place and even Greater people. We are used to fishing Texas Coast but This was a fishing trip of a life time! We stayed in the brick house and we were very pleased with the entire trip!!!!

I have fished with Captain Shawn for the past 3 years. He and his wife Leila run a great lodge with great accommodation. I personally have caught a red fish each of the past 3 years over 30 lbs. with a 34 pounder this year. We also caught triple tail this year thanks to Shawn in 13-16 lb. range. I and 2 friends drove 1500 miles to fish with Capt. Shawn to escape SD winter weather the last week in Feb. We knew weather could be a factor as a major storm hit north of New Orleans. Capt Shawn convinced us to stay a couple extra days to allow the weather to settle done.
It paid off. Fishing got better each day resulting in over 65 bull reds , many over 20 lb -35 lbs. Biggest was a 46 long X 27 girth monster which the redfish formula on the internet calculated out at a whooping 42.92 Lbs.
Capt Shawn also lined up and offshore trip for us that produced three yellow fin 126, 120, & 101 lbs plus numerous black fin tuna, wahoo, amber jack, and king mackeral. What impressed me the most was how hard Capt Shawn worked to find the huge bull reds.
Great trip !! I'm taking another group down next winter. Thanks for working hard in tough conditions to make this one of the most enjoyable trips I've had, Capt. Shawn!!

just fished 3 days w/captain shawn and not one bit disappointed! weather was rough but shawn worked hard for us to score some dandy reds up to 26lbs maybe 28lbs! We hit the mardi gras on the way home, that's a younger mans event, for sure!! anyway, bill and I had a ball and are looking forward to doing it again!! thanks shawn .. tight lines!!

Un-BULL-ievable. That's how I'd describe my two days of redfishing with Captain Shawn. I went down with two buds from Boston who have fished with Shawn before. And although I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect, the actual experience far exceeded expectations. For anyone who hasn't done this type of fishing before but is thinking about it, let me tell you why it's a must -- because the bulls take off like runaway freight trains. Just when you think you have them tired, they tear our more line and make you earn the catch. And let me tell you why you should do this with Fish-On Guide services. Because Captain Shawn gets you on these bad boys. More importantly, he gets you to them safely. It was incredibly foggy the first morning and the marina saw many fisherman hanging out around the docks waiting for the fog to burn off. Not Shawn. The guy knows the Mississippi better than I know the back roads to my house. With eyes on his instruments, he safely navigated around logs, by tankers, through narrow outlets and got us on fish fast. And let me tell you, he's not afraid to burn fuel to keep the action going. He'll take you where there are fish, period. I caught 19 reds in two days. Six over 20lbs and one over 30. It was the best fishing of my life. My forearms are still burning. If you're thinking about doing it, do it. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to get back down there again.

Just finished my second 3 day fishing trip with Capt. Shawn.(11/29-12/01) Just like the first trip, the fishing was great and the lodging was exceptional. Caught large numbers of Bull Reds and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. can`t wait for my next trip.

Decided to take a fishing trip to see what redfishing in Venice Louisiana was all about. Capt. Shawn made sure we were on the fish and had a great time. These fish will wear you out. Real fighters. Caught tons of big fish and nice small keepers to bring home. Accommodations were excellent. Cant say enough about this trip. Will go again...maybe in the fall.

My husband and I came to New Orleans for my birthday and our anniversary. We both love to fish and had spoken with Capt. Shawn at length. We arrived late on a soggy 4/17 and were greeted warmly. We woke to howling 40 mph winds and rain but still wanted to go out as it would be our only day to fish. Capt. Shawn worked tirelessly to put us on fish up and down the river, as the gulf had 6 ft. seas and we could not safely go out in that. Even though it wasn't a great fishing day, we made new friends and plan on going back in October. Fish-On guide service and Capt. Shawn are a class act

A friend and I came down from Boston to visit New Orleans and escape the snow. While we were here we decided to head to Venice and fish for some Big Redfish. We decided on Captain Shawn and Fish On Guide Service. Even though it's not a great time to fish we were going to try anyway. We booked a trip for Monday. Captain Shawn called and informed us Monday was going to be very cold and windy. He gave us the option to switch to a better day. We chose Saturday instead. My grandson Christian and I have been out with Capt. Shawn three times in the last year and had a great time. My brother said it all. Captain Shawn runs a first class operation. Capt. Shawn put us right into the big Redfish. Almost all that we caught were oversized. I am not sure my muscles could have lasted for more than three days we caught that many big fish. Many thanks to Capt. Shawn!!

Our 3 day fishing trip was some of the best fishing I have ever had anywhere. Captain Shawn knows the waters around Venice and definitely knows where to find big bull redfish. We caught big fish throughout the three days, most between 20-34 lbs. We will definitely be back.

I've fished and hunted with outfitters from Alaska to S. Louisiana and I can honestly say I've "never had my fill" of catching fish until I fished with Capt. Shawn. Venice is an unbelievable fishery and Capt. Shawn's drive to put you on fish is unmatched by any guide I've ever been around.

Captain Shawn put us on the red fish first thing that morning and kept us on them all day. We caught well over 100 fish between the 2 of us that day and the smallest was 16 lbs. My arm and shoulder was so sore I could barely hold the steering wheel on the ride home. My father in law went with me on the trip and he was physically exhausted and just quit fishing the last hour. There was one time that day that I went 4 cast without a hit otherwise it was every cast or every other cast was a red!

Captain Shawn did a great job!!! We fished for 2 days and caught redfish of every size. We caught our limit and had fun catching the big bulls. Captain Shawn's fishing expertise was outstanding! Thanks again Captain Shawn!
