Capt. Shawn's goal is for all his clients to have a chance of a fishing trip of a lifetime that they
will remember as a positive experience. How do we achieve this goal? Well, the most obvious answer to this is, "catch
fish", or better yet, "a limit of this fish or that fish". Don't worry, Capt. Shawn will find you some fish
to catch. However, there is more to it than catching fish. I have had folks that have gone fishing with me that have commented
that they had caught some nice fish with other guides, but the guide was a jerk, so they are trying me out (most guides are
nice people). I think that the most important thing for a client and guide should do before a fishing trip is to communicate.
What is it that you expect from the guide? Does the client have any special needs or requests? A failure to communicate can
lead to misunderstandings, so we don't want a "failure to communicate".
If a client wants to target a specific species of fish then I will direct my efforts toward catching that
fish. Sometimes the Reds (Red Fish) are biting, other times the Specks (Speckled Trout) are biting, but I will
try to get you what you want. Most of the time we come back to the dock with an ice chest full of both, Redfish and Speckled
Trout, and why not some Flounder too!
We will be fishing out of a 23" Sea Pro center console bayboat. It's a good, safe, roomy boat. The
Sea Pro is powered by a Yamaha 225 four stroke engine. It runs fine. I get a lot of compliments on my boat.
I have Shimano reels with Castaway and Allstar 7" rods. These rods and reels
are of good quality. You are welcome to bring your own rods and reels if you like. I also supply all of the artificial lures
we will be using. If you want to use livebait, I can make arrangements to buy it at market price and it will be added to your
total.
Legally, I can take out up to six people on a trip, but
it's not practical. If there are more than 4 anglers wanting to go out, we really need to get another captain in on the trip.
I know other liscensed captains that you will be happy with (no jerks with broken equipment).
Fish cleaning and bagging are included in the price.
